The result has caused mass confusion among magic players worldwide. One such player was overheard remarking "CCGPrime!? What's that?".

Many have credited the upset to a recent submission by Will Reiffer declaring Oscar Tan an enemy and referring to him as a whore. It has been surmised that being an enemy of Reiffer's has become one of the fundamental keys to being a popular internet writer.

After two straight years of disappointing finishes in the writer war, Sean McKeown has started a 'campaign of hatred' against Reiffer in the hopes that he will receive a similar 'endorsement' next year. He has reportedly begun sending Reiffer short emails saying "You suck" and "I hate you", which he has described as the most effective insults available in our current environment.

Apparently Gary Wise is also on a quest to get the anti-Reiffer vote and provoke a response. A recent limited review described the card Earsplitting Rats as 'so bad, they should have named it Will Reiffer'.

When informed of these tactics, Tan laughed and explained why he believed they would be unsuccessful "Will must get hundreds of hate mails a day, but he doesn't rant about those players. The real secret to getting under his skin is to have a relatively minor difference of opinion and to tell him he doesn't understand your view. It drives him crazy."

This is not the only accolade that Tan has received this week. He has also swept this years Medyahor awards for outstanding achievement in the field of blatant self-promotion. He reportedly won the awards after sending an e-mail to each of the judges requesting their vote, putting up a billboard promoting his column in Times square, and spamming the boards of Beyond Dominia, a site he continues to rule with an Iron Fist.

There is also a rumor that he is in consideration for the vaunted Good Man of The Week honours. When KK was asked about this possibility, he responded "only when he stops emailing me ... pissing off Reiffer is only one of many criteria"
